19 Wing Comox, Centennial of Flight Dinner,
April 25, 2009
In 2009 Canada will be celebrating 100 years of
powered flight in our nation, going back to the flight of the
Silver Dart in Baddeck NS. This Centennial is of considerable
importance given the vital role that aviation has played in shaping
and defining Canada, both in peace and war.
To celebrate this anniversary, 19 Wing Comox will
be hosting a Centennial of Flight Dinner on the evening of 25 April
2009. The key attractions of the Dinner will be a “once in a
lifetime experience for aviation lovers”: set in an operational
Air Force Hangar (Hangar 7) surrounded by the ambience and
infrastructure of military aviation, with Vintage Wings of Canada’s
Hawk One and crew, the 2009 Snowbird Team and aircraft as the
centrepiece and a surprise VIP Guest Speaker.
There will also be a Golden Hawks Reunion this
weekend in Comox and they will be attending this Dinner. There will
be a catered full sit-down, buffet style meal and No Host bar with
limited seating of 300 individuals. This Dinner will also be the
major fundraising event for the Comox Air Force Museum for 2009.
Tickets will go on sale in January 2009 at the
Comox Air Force Museum and online at the webpage listed below. If
